Due to the rise in religious extremism Attorney General Lord Goldsmith is proposing new "ASBOs" which will stop religious leaders radicalising others, take inciting messages off the internet, and banning people from incitement to hatred and violence. These ASBOs are considered to be a non-custodial form of punishment according to Lord Goldsmith.

However why do people turn extremist? It may be because when immigrants arrive in the UK they are made to feel marginalised and religious leaders ' forms of extremist or "Bad" religion makes converts "too religious".
People can also turn to cults when state religion lets them down.
